During this evenings session we were joined by Matt (Website Supervisor) who showed us all how to log in to the Dartmoor Resource website. Everyone tested their logins and added some content to the DR site. We also gained a new member to the Web Team, Olivia (MED Theatre Volunteer).
We discussed ideas for content driven menu systems and how to categorise content in different ways. Graham created some images, including a map and Fiona & Jess set up a blog each and checked their iGoogle accounts were connecting with the Project Calendar.

Special Effects
Adobe After Effects
Today I ran an Adobe After Effects Workshop at the Exeter Phoenix Media Centre.
We did a number of exercises including making an animation (see above), using virtual camera's and light's, Keying, Masking and Fractal Noise.
After Effects is an amazing piece of software and not to difficult to learn if you are shown in the right way.

Today at the Exeter Phoenix Media Centre I worked with 4 Volunteers, Fiona, Graham, Jess & Julia from MED Theatre as we start to create the Dartmoor Resource.
thanks go to Anna for the image
Today's session was about getting to know each other, learning some basic web design skills using Dreamweaver and Photoshop. The Volunteers each made a simple 4 page website and manipulated images for both web and print applications.
We also looked at and discussed ways of sharing information online using iGoogle. iGoogle gives us the option to share Documents, write Blogs, Email, Chat (Google Talk) and share Calendars in one easy to use online package AND it's FREE!!
We also talked about design concepts and colour schemes. We looked at some images designed by Anna, another Volunteer who could not join us today. We researched hosting sites for audio: Podomatic, video: Youtube & DailyMotion, photographs: flickr, PhotoBucket & Picasa.
We are meeting again on 20th October at MED Theatre in Moretonhampstead.

Phonic FM 106.8fm

I got involved initially with the station by making MySpace pages/sites for a couple of the station's Presenters (DJ's?).
Peter Harris's - The Peter Harris Experience
Mr Harris's design brief was simple - "Black, White, Grey, Blue & Bleak!"
Pete Bishop's - Deep Sea Ball
Bish's design brief was "Shrimps playing Trumpets & Bleanies playing Saxaphones!"
Since then I've volunteered to help maintain the main Phonic FM website and the Phonic FM Forum. More recently I offered to run the Phonic FM MySpace Site.
Phonic Fm is run by a core group of dedicated professional people who give their time for free. All the shows are hosted by Presenters & DJ's who also work on a voluntary basis. Their are over 100 volunteers helping at Phonic Fm. I think that's pretty amazing!
I have a new MySpace Site to work on for Phonic FM and that is for the DJ Lady Laura & Jay's show 'Music to Bake Cakes To'. A mix of baking and Soul & Funk tunes!! I've only just started this site, so check back and see how it turns out, it will probably be layered, Funky and sprinkled with Chocolate!!!
Phonic FM is a great Radio Station - CHECK IT OUT!

TAGLINE the Movie
Wolf and Water Presents - TAGLINE
With an original soundtrack featuring underground UK hip-hop artists, break dancing and spectacular graffiti art, the film is modern Romeo & Juliet story set in the Bay. Blest & Leah belong to rival gangs of Graffiti Artists, they meet at a Break-dance gig & their forbidden love sends ructions through their gangs. When the memorial to Blest's brother, a legend of a Graff Artist, is defaced he jumps to the wrong conclusion & sets in motion a series of events in which "all are punished".

MED Theatre Dartmoor Resources Project
I am currently working on a project with MED Theatre. I am teaching some of MED Theatre's volunteers to create a web resource called the 'Dartmoor Resources Project'.
www.MEDTheatre.co.uk
On 22nd Sept '08 I and the other MT Tutors ran a 'taster session' for the MT Volunteers.
On 1st Oct '08 I had a Meeting with Matt Barrow (MT Web Supervisor). The website/resource is going to be based on a Joomla CMS platform and will showcase past MT works including video, radio, scripts, photographs. The Web Resource will also be the home for new work created during the Dartmoor Resources Project.
I am now busily preparing for the 1st Web Workshop which will be run from the Exeter Phoenix Media Centre on 11th Oct '08
